About the Author
After the completion of his Degree in Business Studies at the University of Ultimo in 1978, Allan Mason became a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and a Registered Tax Agent, before becoming a Chartered Accountant by 1990 and a Registered Company Auditor from 1982.
Not content to confine himself to these titles, but instead wanting to use his professional knowledge to support his various business ventures, Allan has started and operated a finance company, dog and cat boarding kennels, agricultural managed investment projects, including softwood and hardwood plantations, an olive plantation, 2 tea tree plantations, a ginseng plantation, has purchased and operated a large commercial piggery, and established 3 accounting practices in Manly, Chatswood and the now the Central Coast, where he is now based.
Allan’s over 25 years of experience in business and accounting has led him to the assistance of thousands of clients, working for companies such as the AMP Society, Kaiser Aluminium Australia Ltd, Consolidated Press Holdings Ltd, Offset Alpine Printing Ltd and more. Working in industry and as a principal in accountancy practices, as well as working in business on his own account since 1981 has ensured Allan’s experience on both sides of the desk throughout his career, allowing him a well rounded knowledge of many problems that one may think are unique to their business. Allan can assure you that they are not – he has truly seen it all.
