Gordon CooperGordon Cooper

Amongst other things Gordon Cooper is a:

  • Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
  • Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
  • Member of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation.
  • Member of CPA Australia.
  • Fellow of the National Institute of Accountants.

Gordon is the editor of Cooper’s TLIP Capital Gains Tax, which is a loose-leaf service published by Australian Tax Practice.  Currently he is working on new book on Capital Gains Tax.

He is a frequent speaker at seminars and a regular contributor to professional publications.

Since 2003 he has been the host of Cooper’s “Problems in Practice” for cpe.tv.

He is a visiting Professorial Fellow at the Australian School of Taxation in the Faculty of Law of the University of New South Wales.

Gordon has a long list of professional involvements:

  • He is a former President of the Taxation Institute of Australia. 
  • From 1994 until 2000 he was a member of the National Tax Liaison Group which meets with the Commissioner of Taxation in Canberra four times a year, as well as being a member of both the CGT and Foreign Income Sub-Committees.
  • Since 2002 he has been a member of the Expert Advisory Panel of the Board of Taxation.
  • He was a member of the Steering Committee for the National Review of Standards for the Tax Profession and has been involved ever since in this long running saga.
  • He is President of the Committee of the Australian Branch of the International Fiscal Association.
  • He is a member of the NSW Tax Agents’ Board.

In June 2003 he was awarded the AM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for: “Services to the tax profession and to the community as an adviser on national taxation and legislative reform, and through education and professional organisations”.


Richard CollinsRichard Collins

Richard has recently completed his Masters in Forensic Accounting (2007) and has a Bachelor of Business (Majoring Accounting and Law) (1973-1977)

Richard commenced practice on the Central Coast in 1984 specialising in auditing.
Over this period of time his expertise has been developed in auditing a range of entities including companies, superannuation funds, not for profit sector, government funded entities and trust accounts for the Real Estate and Legal sectors. Richard also gained expertise in management accounting, management consulting during this time and recently in forensic accounting.

In the past twelve months Richard has concentrated on providing auditing services for other professionals for the self managed superannuation fund industry to ensure independence and providing assurance that no other services are provided in that sector.

The development of forensic accounting services for the legal profession and corporate entities is seen as an important and critical specialist field. Richard has been developing his practise in providing these specialised services

Over the past three years Richard has been a regular presenter at a number of industry seminars and events.

Richard is a member of the following professional bodies:

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants
  • Certified Practicing Accountant
  • Registered Company Auditor
  • Certified Fraud Examiner
  • Self Managed Superannuation Professionals’ Association of Australia (SPAA)
